The Story Behind the Creation
The first seeds of this design emerged as an offering to the Great Mother following my Nordic Medicine Sister initiation.
During this journey, we moved through a sacred archetypal ritual, inviting the Great Mother to rise within ourselves.
I gifted the original drawing to the woman who facilitated the initiation, and she honored the piece upon her altar for a long time.
This piece carries a profoundly personal medicine for my heart.
I now share her with you, in honor of the Great Mother who lives and breathes through us all.

The poem ‘Homecoming’ by Linda Reuther has long been a well of deep remembrance and nourishment for me,
and this design was born from those same waters.
I’ll share the words here with you:
“And the Great Mother said:
Come my child and give me all that you are. I am not afraid of your strength and darkness, of your fear and pain.
Give me your tears. They will be my rushing rivers and roaring oceans.
Give me your rage. It will erupt into my molten volcanoes and rolling thunder.

You come from the deep darkness and joyful light of my Being.
Take this love that I am filling you with and when you are ready and have had your fill of me, tell others so that they do not forget me.
You are my messenger from this Sacred World to the others.
Go forward when you are ready and have filled up on the nourishment that is your Birthright.
